Managed operations at Clark Hall Pub, ensuring seamless day-to-day activities and providing a safe space for students through effective leadership and innovative event planning
The Problem
Operating a student pub presents unique challenges, including managing a team of student staff, ensuring compliance with university and legal regulations, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, ensuring we did not run out of stock, and driving engagement through events
My Contributions

- Planned and executed a variety of events, enhancing the pub's reputation and driving student engagement
- Ran inventory management, ensured the bar had everything needed to sta open
- Led Homecoming events where we served over 850 patrons and did over $50,000 of business in 6 hours
Context
Clark Hall Pub is a renowned student-run establishment at Queen's University, operated by the Engineering Society. It serves as a central hub for social activities, events, and live entertainment, particularly for engineering students. My role as Operations Manager involved overseeing all aspects of the pub's operations to ensure it met the needs and expectations of the student body
Opportunities
There was a significant opportunity to enhance the pub's operations, improve student engagement, and ensure a sustainable and profitable business model. By optimizing operations through diverse staff hiring, I aimed to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that would become an integral part of the student experience at Queen's University
Action
We rab a full year of events and involved different faculties, clubs, and student run organizations. We led the pub to an incredibly profitable year (which is not always the case), organized live music events and my personal favourite drag bingo
